Tahle prácička je referát na angličtinu a je psaná podle norem jednoduché verze maturitní zkoušky - má 218 slov i s nadpisem a přesně popsané odstavce... na obsahu je hodně znát, že jsem se snažila kvůli omezení slov zkracovat, takže tam hromada důležitých detailů chybí, ale co se dá dělat...
Water for elephants
This film is based on the novel by Sara Gruen. It´s set in New York State in the 20th century and is about memories by Jacob Jankowski, an old man, who lives in nursing home.
Young Jacob receives the devastating news that his parents were killed in a car accident. He´s destroyed, runs away from the city and jumps on a circus´s train – Benzini Brothers. The head trainer, August, is a brutal man, who abuses the animals and people around him. Jacob gets a new job – elephant keeper. He develops a guarded relationship with August and his wife, Marlena, which whom Jacob falls in love. August is suspicions of their love and beats them. Everything ends with tragedy in the ring. Someone launch as animals and in this confusion August wants to kill Marlena and Jacob. Fortunatelly, their elephant Rosie pierces him to neck. Marlena, Jacob and Rosie lead a beautiful life in the new small circus with their five kids.
Robert Pattinson (Jacob), Reese Witherspoon (Marlena), Christoph Waltz (August) and everybody of other actors are convincing in their performance. The locations around the old circus ring are so realistic and selection of costumes is very interesting.
In the end, I´ll write that I love every detail about this film. It´s a great romantic melodrama.
